Short answer: NextLink Europe is a data-only eSIM family that lists 36 places: the EU, the UK, Norway, Iceland, Turkey, Moldova and Ukraine. It does not cover Switzerland. Seven sizes run from 2 GB for $4.49 to 50 GB for $48.99. Buy it for Europe without Switzerland; if Switzerland is on your route, buy Europe Special instead.
| Trip length | Moderate use | Cheapest Europe plan for that use | Price | Covers Switzerland? | Nearest NextLink size |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 days | 2–4 GB | Europe Special 5 GB (Sparks) | $8.49 | Yes | 7 GB, $10.99 |
| 7 days | 4–7 GB | Europe 7 GB (NextLink) | $10.99 | No | This one |
| 10 days | 6–10 GB | Europe 10 GB (eSIMGo) | $13.99 | Yes | 12 GB, $14.99 |
| 14 days | 8–14 GB | Europe 15 GB, 15 days (eSIMGo) | $16.99 | Yes | 20 GB, $22.99 |
| 30 days | 15–25 GB | Europe 25 GB (NextLink) | $26.99 | No | This one |
Prices checked on 21 October 2026. The usage column is the moderate row of our trip data calculator, and the plan column uses the same picker as our Europe category page: the cheapest plan with at least that much data and enough days.
Two different plan families in our catalog are both called “Europe”, and the provider line is the only quick way to tell them apart. This guide covers the NextLink one: its country list, what each size costs per gigabyte, how it differs from the eSIMGo plan with the same name, and what to buy when your route crosses into Switzerland. For what the provider names on our plans mean, see our guide to the suppliers behind plan names. For picking a Europe plan by trip, start with our Europe eSIM guide. Every plan mentioned here is on our Europe plans page.

What is the NextLink Europe eSIM?
It is a family of seven data-only plans from the provider NextLink, sold under the title “Europe” with the data size after it. All seven share one coverage list and one set of terms. Only the data and the validity change:
| Plan | Data | Validity | Price | Price per GB |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Europe 2 GB | 2 GB | 15 days | $4.49 | $2.25 |
| Europe 7 GB | 7 GB | 30 days | $10.99 | $1.57 |
| Europe 12 GB | 12 GB | 30 days | $14.99 | $1.25 |
| Europe 20 GB | 20 GB | 30 days | $22.99 | $1.15 |
| Europe 25 GB | 25 GB | 30 days | $26.99 | $1.08 |
| Europe 35 GB | 35 GB | 30 days | $33.99 | $0.97 |
| Europe 50 GB 60 Days | 50 GB | 60 days | $48.99 | $0.98 |
The per-GB price falls as the plan grows, down to $0.97 at 35 GB. The 50 GB plan costs about the same per GB as 35 GB but runs for 60 days instead of 30, so it is the one to pick for a trip of five weeks or more.
The terms on every product page in the family:
- Hotspot: allowed.
- Top-up: yes. We sell seven NextLink Europe top-ups at the same sizes and prices as the plans.
- Network label: 5G/4G/LTE. The supplier’s text says 5G depends on local coverage, your phone and its settings, and that the plan falls back to 4G LTE where 5G is not available.
- Speed: listed as full speed, with no daily limit and no throttling.
- Activation: the validity starts on first data use, not on installation. The supplier’s text also says the eSIM expires if it is not activated within 2 months of purchase.
- IP breakout: Western Europe. That is where the listing says your data connects to the internet.
- Phone number: none. It is a data-only eSIM.
There is no 10 GB size. For a plan around 10 GB, the choice is 7 GB for $10.99 or 12 GB for $14.99.
Which 36 countries does NextLink Europe cover?
The product page says “View all 36 covered countries”. The list on 21 October 2026:
- EU members (27): Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
- Elsewhere in Europe (7): Iceland, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Norway, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
- Inside Italy (2): San Marino and Vatican City.
San Marino and Vatican City are listed as their own entries. Our catalog groups them with Italy when it compares plans, so in country counts elsewhere on our site this family shows as 34. Both numbers describe the same list.
Why is Switzerland missing, and what do you buy instead?
The plan text on every NextLink Europe product page says it plainly: “Switzerland coverage is not included in this package.” Liechtenstein, the small country between Switzerland and Austria, is on the list. Switzerland is not, so the plan will not give you data there.
That matters for common routes: Milan to Zurich by train, a ski week in the Alps that crosses into Switzerland, or a Geneva airport arrival for a France trip. On 21 October 2026 we had no single-country Switzerland plan, so a Swiss leg needs a multi-country plan that lists it. The closest swap is Europe Special by Sparks. Its list is NextLink’s list with Switzerland in place of Moldova and Ukraine, so it has the same shape with the one difference most travellers care about:
| Size | NextLink Europe | Europe Special (Sparks), includes Switzerland | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 GB, 30 days | No such size | $5.49 | No match |
| 5 GB, 30 days | No such size | $8.49 | No match |
| 7 GB, 30 days | $10.99 | No such size | No match |
| 10 GB, 30 days | No such size | $14.99 | No match |
| 12 GB, 30 days | $14.99 | No such size | No match |
| 20 GB, 30 days | $22.99 | $24.99 | +$2.00 |
| 50 GB, 60 days | $48.99 | $52.99 | +$4.00 |
At the two sizes both families sell, Switzerland costs $2 to $4 more. Two other options also list Switzerland: eSIMGo’s Europe plans (next section) and Europe and USA by Sparks. That one has everything on the NextLink list plus Switzerland, the United States, Albania, Montenegro, Serbia and Israel, for $1 more than NextLink at 12 GB ($15.99) and $3 more at 25 GB ($29.99).
How is NextLink Europe different from eSIMGo Europe?
Both families are called “Europe” and both cover the EU and the UK. The coverage, the validity and the IP location differ, and eSIMGo itself sells two coverage lists under the same title:
| NextLink Europe | eSIMGo Europe, 30-day sizes | eSIMGo Europe, 15-day sizes | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sizes | 2, 7, 12, 20, 25, 35 GB and 50 GB for 60 days | 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 20, 50 GB | 15, 30, 60 GB |
| Countries listed | 36 | 34 | 36 |
| Switzerland | No | Yes | Yes |
| Ukraine | Yes | No | No |
| Moldova | Yes | No | Yes |
| Serbia | No | No | Yes |
| San Marino | Yes | No | No |
| IP breakout | Western Europe | United Kingdom | Ireland |
The 1, 2 and 3 GB eSIMGo sizes are not 30 days: 1 GB is 7 days and 2 GB is 15 days, while 3 GB onward is 30 days. All three eSIMGo groups allow hotspot use and top-ups, the same as NextLink.
On price, the two compete size by size:
| Need | NextLink Europe | eSIMGo Europe | Cheaper |
|---|---|---|---|
| About 2 GB, 15 days | $4.49 | $5.99 | NextLink by $1.50 |
| About 10 GB, 30 days | 12 GB, $14.99 | 10 GB, $13.99 | eSIMGo by $1.00, with 2 GB less |
| 20 GB, 30 days | $22.99 | $24.99 | NextLink by $2.00 |
| 50 GB | 60 days, $48.99 | 30 days, $52.99 | NextLink, with twice the validity |
| 15 to 60 GB within 15 days | Not sold | 15 GB $16.99, 30 GB $25.99, 60 GB $42.99 | eSIMGo, lowest per GB at $0.72 |
The eSIMGo 15-day plans are the cheapest per GB of the three groups in this comparison, but they end after 15 days. For a short, data-heavy trip they win. For anything longer than two weeks, NextLink’s 30 and 60-day sizes are the cheaper way to get 20 GB or more.
Which NextLink size fits your trip?

We ran every cell of our trip data table through the same picker the Europe category page uses: the cheapest Europe plan with at least the upper end of the usage range and enough days. NextLink comes out cheapest in 5 of the 15 cells:
| Trip | Light use | Moderate use | Heavy use |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 days | NextLink 2 GB, $4.49 | Europe Special 5 GB, $8.49 | EUconnect Unlimited 3 Days, $9.49 |
| 7 days | Europe Special 3 GB, $5.49 | NextLink 7 GB, $10.99 | EUconnect Unlimited 7 Days, $15.99 |
| 10 days | Europe Special 5 GB, $8.49 | eSIMGo Europe 10 GB, $13.99 | EUconnect Unlimited 10 Days, $20.99 |
| 14 days | NextLink 7 GB, $10.99 | eSIMGo Europe 15 GB, 15 days, $16.99 | eSIMGo Europe 30 GB, 15 days, $25.99 |
| 30 days | Europe and USA 15 GB, $18.99 | NextLink 25 GB, $26.99 | NextLink 50 GB, 60 days, $48.99 |
Two things stand out. NextLink wins the month-long trips, both moderate and heavy, because it sells large 30 and 60-day sizes and the 15-day eSIMGo plans cannot cover a month. And the heavy short-trip winners are EUconnect Unlimited plans by Airalo, which list 28 countries, the EU and the UK only. The listing caps them at 3 GB a day at 20 Mbps, then 1 Mbps for the rest of that day, and they cannot be topped up. They skip Norway, Iceland, Turkey and Switzerland.
If a cell’s winner is not NextLink, the gap is small. For 10 days of moderate use, NextLink 12 GB costs $1 more than eSIMGo 10 GB and gives 2 GB more. For 14 days of moderate use, the winner is a 15-day plan, so if your trip runs a day or two long, NextLink 20 GB at $22.99 is the safer pick.
Where NextLink is the cheapest way to cover Ukraine and Moldova
NextLink Europe is the only one of the 34 to 36-country Europe packs that lists Ukraine. Moldova is on fewer than you might expect: NextLink, eSIMGo’s 15-day sizes and eSIMGo’s Europe Premium unlimited plans. For a trip that pairs either country with the rest of Europe, the options on 21 October 2026 were:
| Route, 30 days | Cheapest plan with 12 GB or more | Cheapest plan with 20 GB or more |
|---|---|---|
| Poland, Germany and Ukraine | NextLink Europe 12 GB, $14.99 | NextLink Europe 20 GB, $22.99 |
| Romania and Moldova | NextLink Europe 12 GB, $14.99 | NextLink Europe 20 GB, $22.99 |
| Ukraine and Moldova only | NextLink Europe 12 GB, $14.99 | Ukraine and Moldova 25 GB (Sparks), $22.99, the same price as NextLink 20 GB with 5 GB more |
For Ukraine and Moldova alone, the two-country pack by Sparks is the better buy at most sizes: 10 GB for $9.99, or 25 GB for the price of NextLink’s 20 GB. We had no single-country plan for either on 21 October 2026. The wider packs that also list Ukraine, such as Europe and USA, Balkans Special and the global plans, cost more for the same data.
Which countries near Europe does NextLink not cover?

Our country list puts 51 places in Europe. Fifteen of them are not on NextLink Europe, besides Switzerland:
- The Balkans: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia.
- Small states and territories: Andorra, Monaco, Gibraltar, the Faroe Islands, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey.
- The east: Belarus and Russia.
The Balkans gap is the one most likely to catch out a road trip from Croatia or Slovenia. For those routes, our Balkans eSIM guide compares the packs that list them. A Croatia, Slovenia and Serbia trip, for example, has no NextLink option; the cheapest 12 GB, 30-day plan that lists all three is Europe and USA 12 GB by Sparks at $15.99.
Top-ups, activation and IP location
Top-ups. The supplier’s text says the eSIM is rechargeable, so when the data runs out you can add a NextLink Europe top-up to the same eSIM. The seven top-ups match the seven plan sizes and prices, from 2 GB for $4.49 to 50 GB for 60 days at $48.99. Our guide to topping up a travel eSIM covers how that works.
Activation. The validity starts when the eSIM first carries data, so you can install it at home before you fly. Keep mobile data off for that line until you land. The eSIM must be activated within 2 months of purchase, per the supplier’s text.
IP location. NextLink lists Western Europe as the IP breakout for this family, while eSIMGo’s Europe plans list the United Kingdom or Ireland. Websites and apps see that location rather than the country you are standing in, which can affect the language a site opens in or what a streaming app offers. Our guide to which country’s IP your eSIM shows goes through this across the catalog.
FAQ
Does the NextLink Europe eSIM work in Switzerland?
No. The plan text on every NextLink Europe product page says Switzerland coverage is not included. Liechtenstein is covered. If Switzerland is on your route, Europe Special by Sparks lists it, at $14.99 for 10 GB or $24.99 for 20 GB over 30 days.
Which countries does NextLink Europe cover?
It lists 36: the 27 EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Norway, Turkey, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, San Marino and Vatican City. Our catalog counts San Marino and Vatican City with Italy, so some of our pages show 34.
How much does the NextLink Europe eSIM cost?
On 21 October 2026: $4.49 for 2 GB over 15 days, $10.99 for 7 GB, $14.99 for 12 GB, $22.99 for 20 GB, $26.99 for 25 GB and $33.99 for 35 GB, all over 30 days, and $48.99 for 50 GB over 60 days.
Is NextLink Europe the same as eSIMGo Europe?
No. They share a name but not a list. eSIMGo’s Europe plans include Switzerland and leave out Ukraine; NextLink’s does the opposite. eSIMGo also sells 15-day sizes up to 60 GB, and the IP location differs.
Can I top up NextLink Europe and use it as a hotspot?
Yes to both. All seven sizes allow hotspot use, and we sell top-ups at the same sizes and prices that add data to the same eSIM.
Does NextLink Europe have 5G?
The listing labels all seven sizes 5G/4G/LTE. The supplier’s text says 5G depends on local coverage and your phone, with 4G LTE where 5G is not available. Our guide to regional packs that list 5G compares the Europe packs on this.
The short version
NextLink Europe is a good default for a Europe trip of a week or a month that stays out of Switzerland and the Balkans. It is the cheapest Europe pack for 7 days of moderate use and for any month-long trip, and the only 36-country Europe pack that lists Ukraine. Its one real gap is Switzerland, and that is a $2 to $4 swap to Europe Special.
