Short answer: Half Global is a plan family from the provider 3 covering 50 countries: Europe, the United States, Turkey, the UAE, the Caucasus and Central Asia. It skips Asia-Pacific, Africa and the rest of the Americas. Buy it when your route includes Georgia, Armenia, the UAE or Central Asia. For Europe alone, Europe 12 GB is cheaper.
| Your route, 30 days | Cheapest plan with 12 GB or more | Cheapest plan with 24 GB or more | Half Global 12 GB / 24 GB |
|---|---|---|---|
| Europe only (France, Germany, Italy, Spain) | Europe 12 GB, $14.99 | Europe 25 GB, $26.99 | $16.99 / $27.99 |
| United States and Europe | Europe and USA 12 GB, $15.99 | Half Global 24 GB, $27.99 | $16.99 / $27.99 |
| Turkey and the UAE | Half Global 12 GB, $16.99 | Half Global 24 GB, $27.99 | $16.99 / $27.99 |
| Europe and the UAE | Half Global 12 GB, $16.99 | Half Global 24 GB, $27.99 | $16.99 / $27.99 |
| Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan | Half Global 12 GB, $16.99 | Half Global 24 GB, $27.99 | $16.99 / $27.99 |
| Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan | Half Global 12 GB, $16.99 | Half Global 24 GB, $27.99 | $16.99 / $27.99 |
Prices checked on 19 October 2026 across every plan we sell with a fixed data size and at least 30 days. Unlimited plans are left out. A moderate month of travel uses 15–25 GB by our trip data calculator, so the 24 GB column is the one most travellers should read.
Half Global is one plan family in our catalog, sold under one name in six sizes. People search for it by name, and the product pages list the countries but do not say who the plan is for. This guide answers that from our own data: the full country list, what each size costs per gigabyte, which countries are missing, and which trips it wins or loses against the other plans we sell. For how multi-country plans work in general, see our guide to international eSIMs. Every multi-country plan we sell, Half Global included, is on our regional and multi-country plans page.

What is the Half Global eSIM?
Half Global is a data-only eSIM plan family from the provider listed as 3 on the product page. All six plans share the same coverage list and the same terms. Only the data size and the validity change:
| Plan | Data | Validity | Price | Price per GB |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Half Global 12 GB | 12 GB | 30 days | $16.99 | $1.42 |
| Half Global 24 GB | 24 GB | 30 days | $27.99 | $1.17 |
| Half Global 36 GB | 36 GB | 30 days | $37.99 | $1.06 |
| Half Global 30 GB Yearly | 30 GB | 365 days | $43.99 | $1.47 |
| Half Global 60 GB Yearly | 60 GB | 365 days | $80.99 | $1.35 |
| Half Global 120 GB Yearly | 120 GB | 365 days | $145.99 | $1.22 |
Every plan in the family has the same terms on its product page:
- Hotspot: allowed.
- Top-up: yes, without a new QR code. We sell six Half Global top-ups at the same sizes and prices as the six plans.
- Network label: 4G/LTE. None of the six carries the 5G label. The supplier’s description says it connects “with 5G or 4G LTE speeds” in eligible countries, but the label on the listing is 4G/LTE, and that is what we go by.
- Activation: the plan starts when you install the eSIM, not when you land. The supplier’s terms also say the eSIM must be activated within 2 months of purchase.
- IP breakout: Hong Kong. That is the location the listing gives for where your data connects to the internet.
- Speed: listed as unrestricted, with no daily limit.
- Phone number: none. It is a data-only eSIM.
The name sounds like it means half the world. It does not. It means a fixed list of 50 countries, mostly in Europe, and the list is the thing to check.
Which countries does Half Global cover?
The product page says “51 covered countries”. The coverage list names Hawaii as its own entry beside the United States. Count Hawaii with the US, the way our catalog groups territories, and the plan covers 50 countries:
- Europe (41): Albania, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
- Western and Central Asia (8): Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan.
- North America (1): the United States, Hawaii included.
That shape is unusual. Our main Europe pack covers 34 countries and stops at the EU, the UK and their close neighbours. Half Global adds the United States on one side and the Caucasus and Central Asia on the other, with the UAE and Turkey in between.
Which popular destinations are missing?
More than the name suggests. On 19 October 2026 Half Global did not list:
- All of East and Southeast Asia and Oceania: Japan, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Australia and New Zealand. India is missing too.
- The rest of the Americas: Canada, Mexico and all of South America.
- Africa: Egypt, Morocco and South Africa included.
- Most of the Middle East: the UAE is the only Gulf country on the list. Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Jordan are not on it.
- Some of Europe: Andorra, Monaco, Kosovo, Ukraine, Gibraltar, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey.
If one stop on your trip is in that list, Half Global will not connect there. A US and Canada road trip, a Europe trip with a flight on to Japan, or a Turkey and Egypt holiday all need a different plan, or a second one. For those routes, our regional and single-country break-even guide works out when one pack beats two plans.
When is Half Global the cheapest plan you can buy?

When your route includes a country that the cheaper Europe packs leave out. We compared every plan in our catalog with at least 12 GB and at least 30 days, for each of the 50 countries on the Half Global list.
For 12 of the 50 countries, the 12 GB Half Global plan at $16.99 is the cheapest such plan that covers them: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Faroe Islands, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, North Macedonia, Russia, the United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan. The gaps are large:
| Country | Next cheapest plan with 12 GB+, 30 days | Price | Half Global 12 GB |
|---|---|---|---|
| United Arab Emirates | UAE 20 GB | $45.99 | $16.99 |
| Georgia | Georgia Premium 20 GB | $49.99 | $16.99 |
| Azerbaijan | Europe Asia and USA 20 GB Yearly | $50.99 | $16.99 |
| Armenia | Armenia 20 GB | $31.99 | $16.99 |
| Russia and Belarus | Russia and Belarus 20 GB | $31.99 | $16.99 |
| Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan | Central Asia 20 GB | $24.99 | $16.99 |
| Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia | Balkans Special 20 GB | $41.99 | $16.99 |
Those other plans carry 20 GB against Half Global’s 12 GB, so the per-GB gap is smaller than the price gap. But Half Global 24 GB costs $27.99, which is still below every one of them except Central Asia 20 GB.
The same logic applies to multi-country routes. A trip from Istanbul to Dubai needs Turkey and the UAE on one plan. The cheapest plan we sell with 12 GB or more for that pair, apart from Half Global, is MENA 20 GB at $46.99. A Europe trip with a stop in Dubai is worse: the next cheapest plan covering both is Global 13 GB Yearly at $55.99. For a Caucasus loop through Tbilisi, Yerevan and Baku, no pack of ten countries or fewer in our catalog covers all three, and the cheapest alternative with 12 GB or more is $50.99.
When should you buy something else?
When your whole trip is inside the EU or the UK, or you need only one country.
- Europe only. The 34-country Europe 12 GB plan costs $14.99 against $16.99, and Europe 25 GB costs $26.99 against $27.99 for Half Global 24 GB. If no stop on your route is outside that Europe list, the Europe pack is the better buy. The Europe plans page has every size.
- The United States and Western Europe at 12 GB. Europe and USA 12 GB costs $15.99, a dollar less. Its product page lists 43 entries, which come to 40 countries by our count, and it misses the 12 named above, among them Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia and the UAE. If your route stays in Western Europe and the US, it is the cheaper of the two.
- Turkey alone. Turkey 12 GB costs $11.99.
- Bulgaria alone. Bulgaria 30 GB costs $15.99, more data for less money.
- Light use. Half Global starts at 12 GB. A one-week trip at light use needs 2–3 GB by our calculator, and Europe and USA 3 GB costs $5.99 for 30 days. Buying 12 GB you will not use is not a saving.
So Half Global is not the cheapest Europe plan. It is the cheapest plan for the parts of the map that the Europe packs skip.
Is Half Global good value for a heavy month in Europe and the US?
Yes, and this is the second case where it wins. At 24 GB and above, Half Global becomes the cheapest pack for the US and Europe together:
| US and Europe, 30 days | Cheapest other plan | Half Global |
|---|---|---|
| 12 GB or more | Europe and USA 12 GB, $15.99 | 12 GB, $16.99 |
| 24 GB or more | Europe and USA 25 GB, $29.99 | 24 GB, $27.99 |
| 36 GB or more | Europe and USA Yearly 40 GB, $56.99 | 36 GB, $37.99 |
A heavy month of travel is 30–50+ GB by our calculator, so a remote worker or a family sharing one hotspot is the buyer for the 36 GB plan. At $1.06 per GB, it is the lowest price per GB of any 30-day plan in the family, and the only plan of 36 GB or more covering the US and Europe that costs under $40.
There are no unlimited Half Global plans. If you want unlimited data, check the fair-use and hotspot limits first: our guide to unlimited travel eSIMs covers what those plans actually allow.
What about the yearly Half Global plans?

The three yearly plans last 365 days from installation and suit people who make several short trips a year across Europe and the US.
- Half Global 30 GB Yearly at $43.99 is the cheapest 365-day plan we sell that covers both Europe and the United States. Only one yearly plan in the whole catalog costs less, China HK Macau 30 GB Yearly at $40.99, and it covers three places in Asia.
- Half Global 60 GB Yearly at $80.99 works out at $1.35 per GB. Europe and USA Yearly 40 GB costs $56.99, or $1.42 per GB, and covers 40 countries by our count instead of 50.
- Half Global 120 GB Yearly at $145.99 is $1.22 per GB, the lowest price per GB of any 365-day plan we sell.
Two details matter more on a yearly plan than on a monthly one. The 365 days start at installation, so install it shortly before your first trip, not on the day you buy it. And the supplier’s terms say the eSIM must be activated within 2 months of purchase, so do not buy a yearly plan months ahead.
The widest yearly alternative is Global 13 GB Yearly at $55.99, from the same provider. It covers 92 countries, every Half Global country among them, plus Japan, China, much of Southeast Asia, Australia, Canada and Mexico. It costs more and holds less than half the data, so it only makes sense if Asia is on your year.
How does Half Global compare with the wider global plans?
The wider the coverage list, the more each gigabyte costs and the smaller the largest size. Here are the plans we sell that cover 40 countries or more:
| Plan family | Countries | Covers every Half Global country? | Largest size | Price per GB at that size |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| World | 179 | Yes | 10 GB, 30 days, $86.99 | $8.70 |
| Best World | 169 | No, missing Armenia | 25 GB, 90 days, $86.99 | $3.48 |
| Discover Global | 154 | No, missing 4 | 10 GB, 30 days, $44.99 | $4.50 |
| Global Special | 126 | No, missing 2 | 20 GB, 365 days, $88.99 | $4.45 |
| Global (yearly) | 92 | Yes | 26 GB, 365 days, $93.99 | $3.61 |
| Europe Asia and USA | 79 | No, missing Russia and the UAE | 20 GB, 30 days, $55.99 | $2.80 |
| Half Global | 50 | Yes, by definition | 36 GB, 30 days, $37.99 | $1.06 |
| Europe and USA | 40 | No, missing 12 | 30 GB, 30 days, $32.99 | $1.10 |
Discover Global misses Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kyrgyzstan and Russia. Global Special misses the Faroe Islands and Russia. Country counts here group territories with their country, so some are lower than the number on the product page.
Only two wider plans cover all 50 Half Global countries, World and Global, and both cost three to eight times as much per GB. If your trip stays inside the Half Global list, paying for the wider plans buys you coverage you will not use.
FAQ
What countries does the Half Global eSIM cover?
Half Global covers 50 countries: 41 in Europe, the United States, and eight in Western and Central Asia (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, the UAE and Uzbekistan). The product page says 51 because it lists Hawaii separately from the US.
Does Half Global work in Japan, Canada or Mexico?
No. Half Global has no countries in East or Southeast Asia, Oceania, Africa or the Americas apart from the United States. Japan, China, Thailand, Canada, Mexico and Egypt are all missing from its list.
How much does the Half Global eSIM cost?
On 19 October 2026 the 30-day plans cost $16.99 for 12 GB, $27.99 for 24 GB and $37.99 for 36 GB. The yearly plans cost $43.99 for 30 GB, $80.99 for 60 GB and $145.99 for 120 GB.
Is Half Global cheaper than a Europe eSIM?
Not for Europe alone. Europe 12 GB costs $14.99 against $16.99. Half Global is cheaper when your trip adds the UAE, the Caucasus, Central Asia or Russia, or when you need 24 GB or more across Europe and the US.
Can I top up a Half Global eSIM and use it as a hotspot?
Yes to both. All six plans allow hotspot use and can be topped up without a new QR code, at the same sizes and prices as the plans.
Does Half Global support 5G?
The listing labels all six plans 4G/LTE, and none carries the 5G label. If 5G matters to you, our guide to regional packs that list 5G shows which multi-country plans do.
Conclusion: a plan for the edges of Europe
Half Global is not a world plan and not the cheapest Europe plan. It is a 50-country list that joins Europe and the US to Turkey, the UAE, the Caucasus and Central Asia, and on those routes nothing else we sell comes close on price. It also wins for a heavy month across Europe and the US, and its yearly plans are the cheapest way to cover both for a year. For a plain Europe trip or one country, a narrower plan costs less.
