Short answer: Our catalog covers 198 countries and territories, and only 82 have a plan of their own. In 112 others, including Spain, Germany, Portugal and most of the Caribbean, the only eSIM we sell is a multi-country pack. For a week in one of them, buy the cheapest pack that lists it with 7 to 10 GB.
| Region | Places we cover | Pack only | Pack most often cheapest at 10 GB, 30 days | Pack price | Cheapest in |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Europe | 51 | 41 | Europe 10 GB (34 countries) | $13.99 | 26 of the 41 places |
| Africa | 41 | 25 | Discover Global 10 GB (157 countries) | $44.99 | 11 of the 25 places |
| North America and the Caribbean | 39 | 26 | Discover Global 10 GB (157 countries) | $44.99 | 20 of the 26 places |
| Oceania | 11 | 9 | Best World 10 GB (174 countries) | $49.99 | 4 of the 9 places |
| South America | 13 | 6 | Latin America 10 GB (17 countries) | $35.99 | 3 of the 6 places |
| Asia | 43 | 5 | Central Asia 10 GB (3 countries) | $15.99 | 3 of the 5 places |
Counts and prices checked on 9 October 2026. “Pack only” means no plan in our catalog covers that place by itself. To size a plan, our trip data calculator puts a moderate week at 4–7 GB.
This guide is a lookup for those 112 places: which pack covers each one, what it costs, and when a narrow pack beats a wide one. It describes our own catalog on one day, so the counts will move as providers add and drop plans. You can filter by any destination in the travel eSIM catalog. Plan details change, so treat the live listing on each product page as the source of truth before you buy.

How did we count places with no single-country plan?
We started from the 921 plans with a coverage list that you could buy new in our catalog on 9 October 2026. That leaves out top-up add-ons, which only work on an eSIM you already hold, and plans that need identity registration before delivery, which we do not list. Of the 921, 611 cover one country and 310 cover more than one.
A plan counts as single-country when it covers one country plus that country’s own territories. Our USA plans also work in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, and our Italy plans also work in San Marino and Vatican City. Those four places have no plan of their own, but nobody visiting them needs a multi-country pack, so we keep them out of the 112. Our price map sorts by whether a place has its own page, so it shades these four with the pack-only group.
That gives three groups across the 198 places:
- 82 have at least one plan of their own.
- 4 are territories covered by the parent country’s plan.
- 112 appear only inside multi-country packs.
Which countries have no single-country eSIM plan?

Most of Europe, most of the Caribbean, most of the Pacific and a large part of Africa. Asia is the opposite: 38 of the 43 places we cover there have their own plans.
Europe is the surprise, because it holds some of the most visited countries in the world. We list single-country plans for only 8 European destinations: Bulgaria, France, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Kosovo, Monaco and the United Kingdom. The 41 pack-only places include Spain, Germany, Portugal, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Ireland, Croatia, Belgium, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and all of the Nordic countries except Iceland.
The providers that supply our catalog sell most of Europe as one product, a single pack for 28 to 36 countries, instead of a plan per country. The buyer loses nothing by it. As the next sections show, a pack-only country in Europe costs less than the typical country with its own plan elsewhere.
Outside Europe the picture is different:
- Africa: 25 of 41 places are pack only, among them Kenya, Nigeria, Tunisia, Senegal, Uganda and Algeria.
- North America and the Caribbean: 26 of 39, among them the Bahamas, Aruba, Barbados, the Cayman Islands, Belize and El Salvador.
- Oceania: 9 of 11. Only Australia and New Zealand have their own plans. Fiji, French Polynesia, Samoa, Tonga and Vanuatu do not.
- South America: 6 of 13: Chile, Uruguay, Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana.
- Asia: 5 of 43: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Prices checked on 9 October 2026. Several packs share a name across providers; the country count tells them apart. It is the count shown on each product page, where a territory listed separately counts as one.
Five places have no 10 GB, 30-day plan at all. Malawi, Niger and Zambia are covered by a 20-country Africa pack whose 10 GB plan runs for 15 days, at $37.99. The Northern Mariana Islands are covered by a 21-country APAC pack with 7 GB for 30 days, at $17.99. Afghanistan is covered by a 129-country pack whose 10 GB plan lasts 180 days and costs $55.99.
All of these sit in one category on our site, so you can browse them side by side: regional and multi-country eSIM plans. If your country is in Europe, the Europe plans page is the shorter list.
What does a pack-only country cost compared with a normal one?
It depends almost entirely on the continent. Across the 107 pack-only places with a 10 GB, 30-day option, the median cheapest price is $35.99. Across the 60 countries that have their own 10 GB, 30-day plan, the median is $21.99.
That gap hides two very different groups:
| Cheapest 10 GB, 30-day pack | Pack-only places |
|---|---|
| Under $15 | 28 |
| $15 to $24.99 | 13 |
| $25 to $39.99 | 16 |
| $40 to $59.99 | 45 |
| $60 or more | 5 |
The 28 places under $15 are all in Europe. The 45 between $40 and $60 are mostly Caribbean islands and African countries whose cheapest option is a world pack. In 49 of the 107 places, the cheapest 10 GB plan is a pack that covers more than 100 countries. You are paying for a list of 157 countries to use one of them.
In those places, 10 GB is often the wrong size to buy. The Discover Global pack costs $44.99 at 10 GB, $27.99 at 5 GB and $18.99 at 3 GB, all valid for 30 days. A week of moderate use is 4–7 GB, and a week of light use is 2–3 GB. If the hotel has Wi-Fi and the phone is mainly for maps and messages, the 3 GB or 5 GB size saves $17 to $26 on the same pack. Guam is the sharpest example. Its cheapest 10 GB, 30-day plan is the $86.99 World pack, but a 21-country APAC pack covers it with 7 GB for 30 days at $17.99.
Does a narrower pack cost less?

Outside Europe, yes. Inside Europe, no.
For each pack-only place we looked for the narrowest pack that covers it. In 22 places that pack covers 2 or 3 countries. In 13 it covers 4 to 10. In 54 it covers 11 to 30, in 7 it covers 31 to 60, and in 16 places nothing narrower than an 80-country pack exists.
Outside Europe, places with a pack of 10 countries or fewer pay a median $33.99 for the cheapest 10 GB, 30-day plan. Places without one pay a median $44.99. Tunisia and Algeria at $20.99, Central Asia at $15.99 and Nigeria and Ghana at $26.99 are all two- or three-country packs, and all sit well under the world-pack price.
Europe breaks the rule. We list two-country packs for Spain and Portugal, Germany and Austria, and the UK and Ireland, plus a four-country Benelux and France pack. Their sizes are 2, 7, 15, 30 and 50 GB. Compare them with the Europe-wide packs:
| Size, 30 days | Spain and Portugal (2 countries) | Cheapest Europe pack |
|---|---|---|
| 7 GB | $10.99 | $10.99 (36 countries) |
| 10 GB | not sold | $13.99 (34 countries) |
| 12 GB | not sold | $14.99 (36 countries) |
| 15 GB | $17.99 | not sold |
| 20 GB | not sold | $22.99 (36 countries) |
At 7 GB the two-country pack and the 36-country pack cost the same. The Germany and Austria and UK and Ireland packs are priced identically to the Spain and Portugal column. So in Europe the narrow pack buys you nothing, and the wide one keeps working if the trip grows a side visit to France or Italy. Our guide to the best eSIM for Europe travel covers how the Europe packs differ.
When is a pack cheaper even if the country has its own plan?
In 12 of the 60 countries that have their own 10 GB, 30-day plan, a multi-country pack covering the same country costs less.
| Country | Cheapest own plan | Cheaper pack | Pack price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jamaica | $63.99 | Discover Global (157 countries) | $44.99 |
| Mexico | $46.99 | Mexico and USA (2 countries) | $33.99 |
| Taiwan | $20.99 | Asia 14 Countries | $14.99 |
| Colombia | $40.99 | Latin America (17 countries) | $35.99 |
| India | $18.99 | Asia 14 Countries | $14.99 |
| Ghana | $30.99 | Nigeria and Ghana (2 countries) | $26.99 |
| United Kingdom | $16.99 | Europe (34 countries) | $13.99 |
| Iceland | $16.99 | Europe (34 countries) | $13.99 |
| Qatar | $29.99 | MENA (13 countries) | $26.99 |
| Rwanda | $42.99 | Africa (5 countries) | $40.99 |
| Bangladesh | $15.99 | Asia 14 Countries | $14.99 |
| Singapore | $11.99 | Singapore Malaysia Thailand (3 countries) | $10.99 |
All prices are for 10 GB over 30 days, checked on 9 October 2026.
Price is one input. A pack and a single-country plan can come from different providers, with different rules on hotspot use, top-ups and which local network you land on. Check those on the product page before you pick the cheaper one. For a trip that crosses borders, our guide to the break-even between regional and single-country eSIMs works out when one pack beats two separate plans.
What should you check before buying a multi-country eSIM?
Four things, all on the product page.
- Your country is on the coverage list. Packs with the same name can cover different lists. We sell packs called Africa that cover 5, 10, 20 and 23 countries, and three different Caribbean packs. Kenya is in some of the Africa packs and not in others.
- Every country on your route is on the list. A pack saves you from swapping eSIMs at each border, but only for the countries it names.
- The validity covers the whole trip. Most packs here run 30 days. The small sizes are shorter: 1 GB plans often last 7 days and 2 GB plans 15.
- The size matches the trip. With world packs each extra gigabyte is expensive, so size down before you size up. Our comparison of price per GB by plan size shows how the rate changes.
Every one of the 112 places has at least one plan that covers a moderate week, meaning 7 GB or more for 7 days or longer. The median cheapest price for that is $33.99, from $9.99 in Ukraine and Moldova to $86.99 in Cape Verde, Lesotho and New Caledonia, where only three plans cover the country at all.
FAQ
Can one eSIM work in multiple countries?
Yes. A multi-country or regional eSIM is one plan with a list of countries where it connects. You install it once and it switches to a local partner network as you cross each border on the list. We sell 310 such plans, covering from 2 countries up to 185.
Why is there no single-country eSIM for Spain or Germany?
Because providers sell Europe as one product. Our catalog has single-country plans for only 8 European destinations, and Spain and Germany are not among them. The cheapest 10 GB, 30-day plan covering either country is a 34-country Europe pack at $13.99, checked on 9 October 2026.
Is a regional eSIM more expensive than a single-country one?
Not in Europe, where a 10 GB, 30-day pack costs $13.99. The median across the 60 countries with their own plan at that size is $21.99. Elsewhere it usually is. Across all 107 pack-only places with a 10 GB, 30-day option, the median cheapest price is $35.99.
What is the cheapest eSIM for a Caribbean island with no plan of its own?
For most of them it is the Discover Global pack, at $44.99 for 10 GB or $18.99 for 3 GB, both valid 30 days. Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint Barthelemy and Saint Martin are cheaper on the five-country Best Caribbean pack at $33.99 for 10 GB.
Do I need a multi-country eSIM for Puerto Rico?
No. Our USA plans cover Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, so a single-country USA plan works there. The same applies to San Marino and Vatican City with our Italy plans.
Conclusion: look up the pack, then pick the smallest size that fits
A missing single-country plan is not a gap in coverage. All 112 places can be reached with a pack, and in Europe that pack costs less than most national plans. The cost shows up in the Caribbean, the Pacific and parts of Africa, where the only cover is a world pack. There, the choice that saves money is the size. Check the narrowest pack that lists your country, compare it with the wide one, and buy the smallest size that covers your days.
Before you buy, confirm
- Your destination is named in the pack’s coverage list on the product page.
- Every other country on your route is on the same list.
- The validity covers every day of the trip.
- You compared the 3 GB, 5 GB and 10 GB sizes of the same pack against your expected use.
- You checked whether a narrower pack for your country exists and what it costs.
